my car falls off on the big end and wont make enough rpm to get me through the light.
engine 440 true 11.0-1 forged pistons weind team g with 850 holley full msd ignition 906 head (i will work the heads to accomodate the cam) 200 hit n2o hooker super com headers 3" exhaust dumped before the axle 4.30 gears 28 13.5 et street 3500 stall footbrake car right now the car has a .540 230 durration hyd flat tappet. oh yeah im gonna be switching to 1.6 ratio rockers also.
the car was going through the traps around 6400 rpm so i need a cam that wont be completely dead by then. solid roler is kinda out of the question for now due to cash.
nitrous is like a really hot chick with an std you want to hit it but youre affraid of the outcome.

Before you go buying a cam I'd look at a few things, is it a fuel problem, is it a valve spring problem or am I running out of air(too small of a carb). I'd look at these things first

the rods are hp rods bushed with arp bolts. i am upgrading the fuel system as well and the car on motor falls on its face around 5700 @ 13.0 afr i have a wideband in the car. and i usually shift the car right before 6k rpm if the car made power to 61-6200 i could shift there and probably not be as high in the rpm going through the lights. and c'mon its a hydraulic flat tappet cam its gotta go.

I`m an isky man myself and my last 906 headed combo went 10.40`s all day long and was my daily driver. I`m the guy that goes bigger than recommended on cams and I wouldn`t be afraid to run something in the 580-600 lift range w/250-260 duration but, that`s just me. My cam in the mentioned combo was an isky solid w/590-605 lift and the dur. was around 250-260 if I remember correctly.

11:28 at 116.82 makes me think that your out of fuel past the 1000 ft. timers, you havwe enough fuel to go on the first half of the track but not the last half. You should also try testing the valve springs for pressure, most stock 383 & 440 with stock heads, valves and the stock magnum valve springs with stock valves and retainers will rev well past 6000 in first and second gear and rev past that in high gear also Something is gravely wrong I fear, the NOS is geting the results but the motor needs help I think. is the NOS to rich on the fuel side possibly?

I can get you an Engle cam for your motor.
I will say this, I think you are leaving alot on the table with the cam you running. Most RB's running 6K or more with hydraulics have trouble maintaining control of the valve. 1.6 rockers will make things worse.
PM me if interested in a recommendation and price.

probably gonna be running an isky since they are local to me something in the low .600 lift range what i need help with is the duration and lobe sepperation and suggestions? someone with a similar motor. but i guess 11.23 wasnt bad for a 7 cylinder

I cant believe you just want to through money at it without trying to max out what you have.... he11 save you money and spray it with another 150 on top of the 175. Naaa, a nitrous cam likes a wider lsa like a 114, since you you are running a stock head you want more duration... like a 275-280 with .600+ lift

its not that the engine cant turn the rpm it just doesnt make power up top. im taking the heads off, porting them, putting in new springs to match whatever cam i get and upping the fuel delivery. the nos is lean on the fuel side im jetted 82 n2o 73 fuel @ 6psi 900 psi bottle pressure.
im not really wondering "whats wrong" with my combo i really just want a good cam reccomendation bassed on what my car has in it.
If you need any help, or want a cam, I'm an Isky and Comp cams dealer so give me a ring when your ready... Brian www.immengines.com
