Just curious....... Did they come with single or dual springs from the factory?

Just took apart a fairly original set that has dual springs on it.
Red stripe on the outer, inner is painted red.

August 67 date code if it matters.

That sounds lie a set of the older Crower springs scope
I'm almost sure they came stock(all years)with a single with a dampener confused

Check to see that the outer diameter of the valve guide has been cut and aftermarket seals installed..
seems like that is a requirement to use full double springs, factory only used a flat wire dampener with umbrella seal.

I thought they all used a spring like the old DC "933" spring(single), but I really haven't had my hands on that many hemi heads.

Figured I'd ask.

They came with a single similar to the 933 Springs. The red stripe dual springs that DC/Hustle Stuff carried were quite popular when upgrading cams in those days. 6077 I think was the last digits of the part # for the red stripe springs.
