On your comment on the added weight of the paint I believe a lot of the paint weight evaporates when sprayed onto the car work scope
I had heard back in the early 1970s to not spray much paint on out race cars and then someone weighed his race car before and 30 days after the paint job and found that it had not gained the amount of weight that the paint weighed confused shruggy

I use jute with 3M 90 on the roof. I don't like foil covered butyl (aka Dynamat, etc.) because it sweats and stains the headliner.

That said the only time I have issues with the roof sweating is with cars we don't have in a climate controlled shop.

I like the just glued to the dynamat idea though. I was too paranoid that the roof in my winter beater Coronet would rot from the inside out.

Jerimiah,

Good point on the condensation issue!

I will put the Superlite Dynamat up first, and then glue on the Jute.

Thanks, Mark

Jeremiah -
Did you tape all the seams? I was wondering if it still sweats/ discolors if all the seams are taped. I just did a roof with the foil-lined butyl and was curious.

Hi Dodgy,

What did you put over the Dynamat, and did you glue it? and if so, what glue did you use? 3M 90?

Thank you!

Mark
