I raced the Superstock class at Mo-Kan's Hot Rod Reunion. I made it to the quarter finals and red lit. 11.24 @ 121 best even after adding the weight of the rollbar!

11.24 @ 121 best even after adding the weight of the rollbar! Extra weight = Extra traction Not in this case. 60ft's were horrible and in the 1.62 to 1.64 range. It has done a best of 1.54. It desperately needs some mono or split mono leaf springs and adjustable shocks! I played around with a few other things...

Nice work, I like your car. Thanks! It is definitely a work in progress. LOL! I weighed it Monday and it came in at 3,600 lbs. with me in it. The 6 pt. rollbar added 80 lbs. I weighed 212 lbs. that day so 3,388 lbs. is what the car weighs now. I'm installing Cal-trac split mono leafsprings and they are 28 lbs. per side vs. 42 lbs. for the SS spings. (I'm assuming passenger side weighs slightly more with 1 more leaf.) That should net me a 28 lbs. weight loss right there!

I was playing hard with it on K-96 here in Wichita and broke a bolt on the rear u-joint strap AGAIN! I planned on upgrading the yoke the last time it happened but was under a time crunch for the HAMB and had already paid my entry fee. Out of sight and out of mind so hadn't really given upgrading a thought until it went BANG!
I splurged and bought the Moser 1350 joint and u-bolts instead of straps and bolts this time. Hopefully this fixes the problem!

One less thing to upgrade... I really like your build, and Ive always liked the drive it while you build it projects. Thanks, I'm torn because I really like perfect paint and a nicely detailed car. The problem is it would be another 5 years to get it to that point and I want to have fun NOW! ...and I AM! The great thing about this car is I can park it anywhere, walk away from it and not worry about scratches or it getting stolen. Who the hell would want an ugly '63 Dodge?! It is weird when I get compliments because I see all of its flaws, what I would like to improve and think people are crazy for liking it in its current form. I do love the dependability and driveability of this drivetrain and combination!

I took an extra good rear bumper core with me to the Indy swap and gave it to the guys at AMS NOS. Called them on Monday to pay and it arrived today (Thursday)! VERY NICE QUALITY! Very reasonably priced too at $395!
