Just because you have an welder it does not mean you can weld.... Ain't that the truth. The more common saying "I've been doin welding/bondo/paint/...plumbing/electrical/... for 30 years!" A lot of people who say they have 30 years of experience actually have one year repeated 29 times...

A friend of mine had a ladder bar set up installed in his dart by one of his buddies. Used a Hobart 120v mig with .023 wire. Did a very nice job. Car has been to the track many times. No issues. I think the true is ya just have to know how to properly weld. ![iagree iagree](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/iagree.gif) The spring perches on my Dana 60 were welded on by a friend using a little welder plugged into a normal 110v outlet under his carport. Carrying a 3900 lb car, been 8.90s in the 1/4. Almost dragged the bumper and tripped the 60' beams w/ the back tires...no trouble w/ those welds.
