What is best tire size for the front and rear of 1971 Challenger. I was thinking running BF Goodrich radial T/A P235/69R15 for the front and P255/60R15 for the rear.

I'm guessing that you meant P235/60R15 on the front.

Those are the sizes that most people would run for a "big and little" look other than running P275/60R15's on the rear.

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

I started out with 14" wheels with 225/60r14's up front and 245/60r14's (largest for a 14") on the rear of my 70 Challenger. I then swapped out the 14's for a set of 15" wheels with the P235's up front and the P255 on the rear (widest on a 7" wheel). I am now running P245/60R15 on 7" up front and P275/60R15 on 8" wheel on the rear.

After switching sizes, I now think that the 14's are way too small, and the P235 looks small up front. I still like the look of the P255 on the rear. But I now love the look of the 275 on the rear of a Challenger.

Best? I don't know about best, but I like to put as much tire under the car without modifications as I can. To each its own.

Thank you for your opinion. As my car is to restore, I just don't want to go too obvious difference from front and back. So I think I'll go with P235/60R15 on 6.5" rims for the front and P255/60R15 on 7" rims for the rear

Yeah, I wouldn't do that if you want subtle. AAR or T/A you can get away with it because of the raked stance. Big 'n Littles work on them and '71 and up B-bodies, just my opinion though.

Have a '71 Challenger convertible with 235's front and back and it looks perfect.

Things can be done with a lot of thought: there was a Member on here from England with a red Challenger that slipped 295's under His car with the Dan Gurney AAR style-wheels and it all blended together VERY well. You had to look under the car to see he had 295's on it.

If it's big power that you have in mind, then you might have to sacrifice looks for traction: take your pick.

Don't waste your time with a 295 or less. I was able to fit 315's on all four corners.
