I am putting a stoked Hemi 604 pump gas in my 68 Barracuda not really a race car. Once a year track car, Mostly just for enjoyment.

Cross ram I have is an original 68 one or are the mopar performance one better for what I am going to with the car. Or do you guys recommend something else
thanks for any help

The Mopar Performance crossrams are supposed to be much larger internally than the factory crossrams, which is better for your big stroker.

I have both an original and a Mopar Performance cross-ram. The
Mopar has bigger runners needed for the big cubic inch motors. It would cut big power using the original. The port walls on the original are too thin to open the ports.

I've never seen or heard of a original Hemi cross ram intake and carbs. run as bad as the newer Mopar two piece cross ram do, the new ones are turds in my book down
The old cast one piece aluminum ones are a lot lighter weight and fit way better on the motors also without having to massage the external sides for valve cover clearances work

The new X-ram manifold can be modified much easier than the original. With the removable top plates the interconnection can be easily enlarged as well as the entrance of the port runners. The thick walls can be opened up at the gasket areas and the runner transisions can be blended.A lot of weight can be removed from this manifold as it is quite heavy.Done correctly good HP and torque can be achieved. The sad part is a good single plane high volume manifoild can perform as well and even better.

Took this from the KB block post. From Ray Barton...

Ray Barton Racing Engines has a magnesium CrossRam intake on our website (see link below) that can support over 1000HP. It doesn't make anymore peak HP than a big, open plenum, single four barrel with a big carb. However, it makes a ton more low and midrange torque which is beneficial for heavy or automatic transmission vehicles. Also the RBRE or the newer Mopar manifold can be real animals with good drivability if the carbs are reworked properly. All of the newer Holleys for these manifolds are no good out of the box but can be corrected. -- Ray

Thanks for all the input. This is the engine in my buddies Dart That was going in to his 68 Barracuda But I found his original engine, now no need for this Hemi so I am buying it from him. This is a learning curve for me. I bin a 440 guy.
