Were front sway bars available on 77 era Dodge 2 wheel drive trucks? If so where does it mount and would I need different lower control arms if my truck never had the bar? Any pics of one? Thanks in advance.

Well, I know it's a different frame, but my donor '71 D100 had a front bar. So I'd be willing to bet that there was one on the next generation trucks.
The Rockauto Reference Library shows front stabilizer bar bushings for bar to frame and also for links.

They were available but I cannot recall the mounting details enough from memory to answer your other questions. I do know if you had to a junk yard the end links are the most critical part to grab as there are none available aftermarket. Basically grab the bar and end links you can get bushings from most supply houses.

I have a truck that had one on it, a 74 I can get pics, but will be about a week or better before I can get out there. (I'm parting it out for a project) One of the end links on mine was broken.

Here's a pic I got off ebay.

I'm not sure about aftermarket kits, but, OEM the key part to find is the piece for the front mount ( #4 in this example).

I would think you could look under an early '90's Cummins truck to get the basic idea of how it all mounts.

Sway bars on Dodge trucks between 72 and about 85 were pretty hit or miss. I think it depended on if the sway bar box was checked on the option sheet when the truck was ordered. It was probably part of any handling or towing option and probably part of most of the heavy duty packages.

The sway bar on my 73 D300 was massive, probably well over 1" in diameter. I also believe the control arm end was square cut and was clamped in a rubber bushing to the forward strut bar about an inch in front of the control arm, but that was a long time ago, it may have attached to the lower control arm....
