Orlando will have Pro Winter Warmup with NHRA pro mods, Bradenton will have Heads Up Madness.

Orlando will be 1/4 mile and Bradenton 1/8 mile. While I like NHRA Pro-Mod, that would be the only thing at Orlando I would be remotely interested in. Bradenton will have some small and big tire cars, along with Outlaw Pro-Mods........winner winner, for me.

I will be heading down the I-75, from Toronto, Canada around March 7, I am heading to Florida (Bradenton area) for 2-3 weeks. Any good races or car events I could attend?

Don't miss the amelia island Concours d'Elegance. Not a race, but something that you have to see.

NMCA Bradenton is 9-12 March, should be a good event.

Well, this is what Orlando looked like on Saturday...

There were two Fords sporting Roy Hill driving school on their doors - one of them (the black one, not the one pictured here..) ran 8.0 something - almost in the 7's...

The Daytona Pro Mod qualified 3rd - the A/SA cuda broke before 1st round...

There were a bunch of cars from the Marshall camp - 2 Dart Sport stockers, his old reliable 65 Coronet B car and a GM product...Div 1 D/SA Charger

A little hang time for the B Body ...nice 66 stocker in white...

I ended up going to the swap meet/auction/show at Lakeland saturday morning, then got to Bradenton about 1:00 PM. There was some cool cars and some good racing, but the program was excruciatingly slow for a spectator. Lots of time with nothing to watch, then a few seconds of action, then a couple hours to kill. I was surprised to see Hemis in a bunch of camaros!
At about 7:30, the quick cars finished a round of eliminations, and rather than wait another hour or more for them to come back, I drove to SHowtime Speedway at Pinnelas Park and watched the figure 8 world championship. THat was awesome and exiting to watch, with a 150 lap feature. 23 cars, each braving the crossroads of doom 300 times!

The timing on the Bradenton NMCA event was a little odd this year. NMCA generally runs a good and timely show. Saturday drug on forever before we got to start the shootout. Then we hot lapped.
