Has anyone here dealt with Passion For Mopars? They advertised here for awhile and I have sent them work, cores and Money and just get excuses for why they are not done each time I ask. Been 3-4 months now. I guess I could not recommend them at this point. To many scammers in this business already looking to take advantage of our real Passion for Mopars.

If anyone has else has been screwed or has anything positive to say I would love to hear from them since hope at this point is all I have left since he already has my B and E body cores and the money paid upfront to restore and return ship them.

John

Well, I don't think they're scammers.

Anyone redoing stuff that requires plating will likely wait till they have a batch of parts keep the cost down and quality up. Not too many platers are interested in doing "one ofs" and if they do, the quality is usually poor. Turnaround will also depend on whether you want your own part back or a swap from their stock - if they have stock. And it will also depend on the condition of the junk you sent them.

So there are a lot of variables and reasons for long waits. That's what you have to live with for quality work.

I have a friend who ordered a repro chevy air cleaner off ebay. Price was $1500.!! He waited two years but he finally got it. There were times when he thought he'd been ripped of BUT the guy had a good rep. The thing is hand made and is a work of art.

Be patient.

FWIW I think Passion For Mopars has a site that explains their resto process. Its impressive!

Her name is Kim. She has a small 1-2 person shop and she wears many hats-answering phone calls, emails, inventory parts received, parts shipped, etc, etc

they seem to be either behind or swamped
as you are not the first to complain about work
not being done in a timely fashion by them.

I think they had problems with flooding or storm damage. I remember her coming on here and saying something about it.

She does great work but I wasn't in a hurry. I didn't pay for the service until she sent me pics of the replated barrel ready for assembly. No complaints from me and I would go back in a heartbeat.

OK I'll put this out here so my failure to work at a heated pace is better understood.

My sister had a stroke helping me with cleanup after the hurricane. I took her to ER and her BP was 278/174, crash carts, etc. came when we arrived. Since her release from the hospital she swelled up like sponge bob within 3 days and I had to get her to her primary care doc. From there we waited a month to get her in with a renal specialist who has diagnosed her with Stage Four End Stage Renal failure. He wanted to start her on dialysis but wants a biopsy of her kidneys. During her preop workup the anesthesiologist says she cannot be put under because she isn't getting enough oxygen to her blood. Now to a pulmonary specialist where they initially thought she had COPD, but she is far past that. Xrays were done about 10 days ago and they've found spots on her lungs and fluid around her heart and lungs. Today we go for a CT scan to see if the spots are possible cancer.

Being as swollen as she is, her legs don't bend and she has no stamina, strength, etc. She can't get into the tub alone, can't drive, can't stand long enough to cook or do her dishes. When my sister calls, as happens often right now, and says she's having issues, I have to jump and run and get her to one of her now four different doctors to see what's going on.

I apologize for the lateness of my work lately. Life has thrown big curves at me, I do the best I can and when I give an "estimate" of when a motor will be done, it's not an intentional lie, I think I have in my head and schedule when the work can be done and sometimes I get pulled away for a whole day running for ultrasounds, xrays, blood work, another specialist, another test, another procedure for my sister. She's the only sister, only sibling, I haveand now she's very ill and her body is shutting down. She's not worked since October, has no insurance and I'm dancing with the chaos. I wish things were different, probably more than anyone, but this is the hand I'm dealing with right now. I am the only person that works this business. I handle it alone, work it alone, get off schedule alone and honestly am doing the best I can currently. I'm not asking anyone else to take the blame or own my own crap. I don't like talking about this, putting it out for public consumption, but things are reaching a fever pitch, so here it is. Out in the open.

John, when we spoke yesterday I had advised one motor was finished the other would be finished today, didn't know this thread was here, but attached are the two motors, finished as promised. The B Body is in sealant and doesn't have the ground strap or harness bracket, but when the sealant is dry those will be added, motors packed, labels printed and in the mail tomorrow. Sorry I let you down.

Hey Kim, so very sorry to read about your sister's health going downhill.
We all have had family problems (I know I have personally) so, I myself
can understand what you are dealing with. Again, sorry...I hope your sister will get good news concerning her health.

It was the end of October, Hurricane Matthew, and the big shop is still torn up but workable. My sister had a stroke during that clean up.
