Did you have just one number on the list or five? I talked to a guy at the Dever swap meet who got two a while back and said he only had one list number. Said he was in the sixties but didn't know for sure.

This may sound like I'm cutting my nose off to spite my face, however.....

It doesn't put the warm and fuzzy feeling in me to be signed up and waiting on the list since the 2013 Nats and see other Mopar enthusiasts getting 2, 3, or more 855 transmissions while I sit waiting. Guess my $5000+ that I have had sitting while patiently waiting isn't as good as other guys $$$$?

I have always completely positive about this product....but just a tad disappointed now.

I would call him. I know a lot depends on which style you want. When I was picking up my a body trans, they were waiting on tail shafts for the b and e body's. Something about the last ones had bad core shift....

You can always give him a call. What number are you?? I have been signed up for quite a few years also and got a number somewhere around 175 and Jamie told me 2 months ago I should have it within the next year...and I am waiting for an e body unit.

I have a '71 b-body with buckets, so it's the same as the E-body. I have emailed twice in the last 12-13 months but never received a reply. Jamie told me a few years ago I was #200.

Sounds like Passon just doesn't get a break with this product...

I was in the low #200,s and after talking to a few people that basically went around the list because of who they were and people getting 2 and 3 of these things I just called SST last week and ordered me a brand new T-56 Magnum Kit. Tired of waiting

Just to be clear, I would like to and will be staying in Passon's corner. But, being a previous owner of a Keisler Tremec 5spd, I just have to have an overdrive trans in the car. It makes cruising so much more pleasurable rather than the 4spd with 3.91 gears. I'll keep monitoring Passon's progress to see what comes up, however, the car will finally be getting back on the open road again this year. There will be a 5spd in the car in 2018 regardless. I hope it will be a Passon 855...???!!!

Update, just put my first 150 miles on mine...super smooth shifts,
quiet, put her in 5th rolling up I-5 and it was awesome at 70MPH.
Motor just loafs along.
When I broke in this motor with the 4 speed and 4.10s it got 6 MPG.
With the 855 and 3.54's I got 10.5 to 12.5 MPG,
may not sound like much, but hey a 572 Hemi with a roller cam and 2 4 barrels running all the time... to me is pretty good! Means that theoretically
I could get 180 miles + on a tankful!
More later,
case

I'm 55 now, no time to waste. Not a week goes by that I don't hear about someone passing on.Let's get out there, smoke some tires, have a beer with a good friend,do what you have always wanted to do.I am pretty sure no one will ever say on their deathbed "gee I'm glad my life was calm and boring"

Good to hear, and I know it takes awhile to get around to things.

If you would, when you can, report on your mpg change.

Any of you 68-70 B-body guys with an 855, ...having any trouble with the speedo cable hitting the tunnel a bit to hard?

That looks awesome! Looks like you've made some changes from the one in your signature pic. Those look more like FHO valve covers, and what intake are you running there?

Thanks, Mick.
I've made quite a few upgrades this winter... I went with a solid FT that's much bigger than the hydraulic I had(582/567 vs. 619/601). I am running Eddy Victor Jr heads, with the Eddy single plane dual 4 intake. I changed compression from 9.0-10.8 too. Also added the Stage V rockers and went with Scott Smith Carter clone carbs. Those valve covers are Ray Barton plain black wrinkle finish. If you've kept up with my troubles of rear main leaks, then you'll know I've been revamping. My old setup dyno'd at 583hp@6000 RPM. This setup dyno'd at 675hp@6500 with 580 TQ@5200 RPM. And I have seemed to avoid a leak thus far.... After break in and dyno session! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.... Here's a front shot.

Very nice! Hope it all goes back together well. That's great about the rear main holding. Those can be a beastie!

Has anyone had luck contacting Jamie? I emailed him to see where I was on the list. (put my name on there over a year ago) With no reply. I know he's plenty busy. But it would be nice to see where I'm at. So I can plan future projects. Thanks

Not sure if this helps.....but I am on the list for years (has to be at least 4) and I am somewhere around number 180 and Jamie told me about another year wait a few months back. I am hoping for it by next winter.

Yes, I am on his list for a few months shy of five years at number 181. I called him recently and he was reluctant to provide any estimate for when a five speed will be available for me. After I asked if he could give me at least some idea, 6 mos., 1 year, 1-1/2 year.... he said at this point I'm probably looking at a bit over a year. He was also not anxious to tell me how many transmissions have been produced and delivered. He did tell me that he doesn't follow the list numerically and that he builds and tests transmissions as parts that pass quality control are available for different units. So, I wait patiently as I am sure his product will be worth the extended wait.
