Excellent. Wished I had when removing my Challenger column last summer for refurb and paint.
Had several issues that caused me fits.
1. Did not have suede paint. Used incorrect SEM Landau Black. Looks very good, but now know not correct.
2. Ordered up 'Dorman' coupler rebuild kit on Amazon, came with orange not black seal. Found that holes in new shoes are minutely too small to fit over the factory pin. Evidently offshore tolerances again. So used original ones.
3. Missing steering lock lever and spring. So called 'star' wheel I will call was there. Could not find the small missing parts. Car was a super stock drag racer when new, evidently these parts and many others like rear brake adjusters were tossed.
Are these small parts available anywhere,,meaning steering lock,,,I did take care of other issues such as rear brakes and numerous other issues ok.
4. Yes my 70 now has incorrect chrome ignition switch and hazard button.
5. Inadvertently collapsed steering shaft,,,I said early on in this post that I wish your video was available when I took on this task. A real pita to get it back to 42 inches give or take and to lock it so that could not accidentally shorten and pull out of coupler.
Reason being that I have used Bergman coupler for Borgeson steering box. Theoretically the shaft could work its way out of coupler as there is no pin as on stock coupler to prevent this.
So I jammed up shaft so cannot accidentally shorten and pull out
6. The grounding wire tab thst attaches to the copper horn contact ring was also broken. Tried to solder to no permanent solution. Completely impossible in my opinion. Could only find a NOS one on EBay at a hundred bucks,,,and at that still had to lengthen the wire. Probably been cheaper if I had thought to buy a replacement collapsible can.
All is well now and looks beautiful,,,no one has complained on incorrect not suede paint so far. If noted, likely being polite.
Removed excellent condition stock wheel and installed a beautiful reconditioned by our noted restorer, rim blow wheel as the frosting on the cake.
I recommend this series that you have taken on as candidate for 'sticky' status. Invaluable resource for most every owner.
