I don't think that they made a 4.840 cast iron mega block, but just want to check.

My good buddy whos uncle knows a guy said the first 15 were casted thicker were capable of being machined for that.... (just had to throw a good ole Mopar angle in the conversation) see fbs63 for short sweet and correct answer.

He is speaking of bore center. If you got a 4.19 bore block you could sonic check and see if there was enough material to go 4.840 centers but I dought there would be enough material to go to 4.600 bore so what's the use?

Even if the block DID have enough meat to offset the bores to a 4.840 center, exactly what head you going to put on that? I only know of one Mopar head that will fit that

My bad. It's a Indy maxx cast iron block. 4.610 bore with a 4.840 bore spacing. Does that sound right?

Thats only .230" between the bores. Might be in a pulling truck with 600-13 heads.

They make their aluminum block in 4.840. Don't see why they couldn't of made an iron one. I do know the iron Maxx is HEAVY!
