My 1963 415 HP Belevedere with the 4.56 in it had that on the stock pushbutton tranny, I bought that car from the second owner in 1971 and it seemed like the speedometer was correct according to the CA speedometer checks on the freeways back then with the F70x14 Firestone wide ovals tires on it The math doesn't work. With a 26" tire and the largest speedo pinion you'd need a .74 reduction to be correct. The odometer is a better indicator of correct speedo pinion.

I posted about this a couple years ago. Here it is. https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbt...-later-727.htmlI could not find this info on Moparts or anywhere else and had to figure this one out myself. If you happen to need a retrofit speedometer cable for an early 1962-1965 B-Body using 1966 and later 727 Torqueflite, I found a perfect part that fits. Hold on to your chairs, it is for a '67-'68 CAMARO!!! The original speedometer cable for my 1964 Plymouth Savoy with the pushbutton 727 measures 68 1/2 inches. I found that the 1967-68 Camaro originally uses a 69 inch Speedometer Cable Assembly. I ordered one on eBay, and installed it yesterday. It fits perfect and fits the 727 and speedometer like a glove. FYI...I tried the local Napa, Autozone, Oreilly's, ect, for a 1966 Plymouth Belvedere, and all were way too long (like 14 inches too long) not even close to the right length, so back to the internet for parts. This will save you some time, try these links: Part numbers on the speedometer cable is SC-72 and W-871. http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-speed...-1967-1968.htmlhttps://www.yearone.com/Product/1967-81-firebird/fsc69http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-1968-Camaro-SS-RS-69-SPEEDO-CABLE-w-1-Grommet-/330876273248?fits=Year%3A1967%7CModel%3ACamaro&hash=item4d09c34260:g:bjoAAOxyQj9RI6z6&vxp=mtr

Fit and worked perfectly! This is good info. I use a 1970 trans in my 63 and dont have the speedo hooked up. I go by the tach to have an idea about how fast I am going but if that Camaro cable fits as easy as you guys say I may get one to try in my 63. Thanks for the info guys as I appreciate it. Ron
