I got the call Friday that mine is ready.... too bad the car is not even close to being ready

Is it me or couldn't the build a jig/crate/etc. for shipping with wood?

If they could, they can hire some high school kids to build it rather then wasting valuable time and steel w/a fancy steel jig just to ship the trans out with.

Too much trouble with damage, I have a wood crate from mine, shipping guys must have used it as a football. The steel crate looks very durable and likely as economical.

after pay 5k for a trans are you going to cheap on out the crating? I wouldn't, glad they are packed well

How do other trans gets shipped?

Tremecs ship in large [THICK] cardboard boxes.

I agree, they are very nice!!!!! Mine just sits in the crate looking at me every time I go in my shop.....

Well I am supposedly #200 on the list with what I hope is the most common application. E/B body w/buckets. This give me hope they are moving thru the list. I did email Passon the middle of last year, but never got a response. Here's hoping???

Well, it is finally IN!!!Only took a few hours to strip the old 18 spline out and clean up a little, (laying under the car gets harder every year, and with temps in the 20's and 30's in an unheated garage, I feel OLD!)
Finished getting the 855 bolted in about 7 PM on a sunday.
Again, the machining on this unit is better than just about anything
I have ever bought.It truly 'slid right in' and everything lines up as stock.Filled up 3 quarts 75/140 synthetic for break in, not a drip, not even any weeping anywhere,let's hear it for O Rings!
Finished up a few small details last night, and if the weather ever warms up and dries out, I'll be ready.

Going on a year now I had Jamie go through my transmission, as there was a recurring issue I couldn't find. Shipped it back, and the tail section was protruding out the back of the wooden case about 2 inches. Secured in place by two 2X4's, which were both shattered width wise. Amazing what they did with this thing.

Broke the retainer clip housing in the tail section, so the output shaft was floating freely. Only transmission Jamie has ever lost in 20 years of shipping. Luckily UPS paid up, at least most of it.

So yes, I understand the metal crate!

I think the metal crate is a great idea, it will also be real nice for when you decide to send the unit in to be serviced etc.

You put a deposit on the crate and ship it back for a credit.
