This afternoon I went to look at a 1996 Dodge Ram 2wd with a 5.9 Magnum and auto trans. The truck it rough but the engine/trans is good... which is what I'm buying it for. I have a '69 Coronet Wagon that I'd like to put the engine and possibly the trans as well. If I decide to run the fuel injection setup, what other components should I remove from the truck before hauling it off?
Thanks!

Try to get everything you will need and more...

Computer and complete harness, fuel tank and lines, cluster and OD switch (along with other switches), shift linkage and cooling lines, driveshaft, engine mounts and trans mount/crossmember, exhaust past converter, cruise control if equipped, you get the idea.

The best bet is to keep the truck around until the wagon is running, but if you gotta strip it, get EVERYTHING you might want and extras in case you need that small part or for trading material.
It sounds like you don't have long-term storage, so between removing what you want and selling off other parts, it should look like this before it's hauled off.

Agree. You want everything. I converted a 75 Trailduster to a 93 drive train and I used a lot more than I originally thought.

Yep, if you keep the donor till the job is done.

When I swapped the 360 out of a 79 Cordoba into my 72 Swinger I ended up using a lot more than just the eng/trans. I put the power windows and locks into the Swinger, then the front power seats as well. The disc brakes got put into my 64 300.

Same deal when I bought a 79 Newport with a 73 360 as a donor for my 38 Plymouth. Eng/trans, front seat, rear axle, wiring, front suspension, etc all got used.

You never know.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

I have 5 acres and plenty of cars stashed already as it is. So storing one more vehicle isn't gonna hurt. Haha. I have been doing some reading on other posts along with other sites and it looks like the '96-up Magnumis a little more complicated (in depth) to swap opposed to a pre-'96. I'd like to run the fuel injection and O/D trans, but if it's too much trouble, 8 would also consider running a carb and a 727/904. Thanks for the advice!

Everything I have read makes it seem like a straight forward swap, sure hope so because I have a 94 with its tranny here that is going in my 67.
