Just thought I'd let everyone know how bad Speed pros customer service is. I bought a set of Hellfire rings a few weeks back and when I went to fit the rings one of the second rings was broke. Didn't find it till I was on number 6. so I call to see about getting a replacement and find out they won't sell a single ring but they have a part number on it RBT-101805(no single cylinder set also) now mind you the ring was broke before I did anything to it but I figure to make things easy I would just buy it. They say I have to buy a complete set of seconds and delivery may take 10 weeks at a cost of $64.00. They tell me if I take back to the speed shop I bought it from they can send it in for evaluation and if they determine it was defective they will replace it in anywhere between 2 and 6 weeks. Okay rant over.

Why would you not take em back to the place you bought em? Speed pro don't know you or your business, so why bad mouth em.

The place I bought them was trying to get this resolved they are the ones who after mutiply phone calls suggested I try and talk with them. Take them back to my suppler after I all ready installed 6 pistons, would you take them back. This is customer service issue plane and simple. You guys bust 440 sources balls because he won't warranty a 6 month old part but you defend speed pro because they don't know, me get a grip.
4.500 bore

Your supplier customer service sucks if they can't help you. You can't expect Speed Pro to deal with you directly if you didn't buy them direct.

I deleted my other post because I misread a word , but I have to agree here , it's the supplier , though I really wanted to steer this OFF COURSE ....

Here's what I would do , buy another set of rings , put the broken ring in the new set and RETURN IT .

Bonefish that is my point exactly. To the other two jokers you want me to stick the guy I buy all my parts from with a set of rings. Remind me not to any business with you.

Just a suggestion for the future, buy your ring sets from Akerly and Chids. They listen to you, give you what you need, and if you're a little clumsy like me and occasionally break 2nd rings installing them, they'll next day air you one for peanuts even if it's a really weird one. No more rifling through catalogs looking for a package that has the ring combo you want to try, just pick up the phone and every variable imaginable is at your finger tips. Plus guys on the other end that are knowledgeable enough to help with odd bore sizes, uncommon back cuts and faces, materials, and other conditions that may change your radial tension, size, and shape needs.

Dthemi thanks for the advice, I know this is my last set of speed pros. Do Akerly and Chids make a ring package for NOS use.

Why , the guy you bought them from is STICKING you with the rings , if you spend alot of money with this guy then he should have no problem taking care of you on this issue , if he's not maybe he's the one you need to not do business with ???

As far as doing business with ME , would you if I sold EVEN CHEAPER offshore source big block crank kits ????

Sounds like your supplier sucks. He should have just opened up a fresh package of rings and replaced your broken one for free, then dealt with the supplier to see if he could get a credit for it. You don't stick your customer with junk merchandise and tell him to call the manufacturer.

What nobody seems to understand is my supplier tried to get speed pro to fix the problem and they told him no single rings are avialable not even a single cylinder set. And as for just opening another set this are 4.500 +.005 rings he had to order the first set. I just don't understand how anyone can think this is a good way to run a business or expect the guy with a small machine shop/speed shop to suck up speed pros lack of service. When he sold me the rings he made a whole $13.00 on them. All I did was call speed pro after he told me they won't help and I got the same thing from them as he did. No satisfaction.

IMO
It doesn't matter how much money he made, even if he made zero. He is a dealer for there rings, supplier of there rings, and obviously recommends there rings. He needs to take care of it if the company wont period.
No excuse from either would do
He is in a business to sell products who he doesn't manufacturer, and admitted to making money on sales..Why shouldn't he stand behind the product? Because he doesn't want to be out of pocket? Big deal, he needs to be the one to address Speed Pro, as a dealer/whole seller Speed Pro didn't make the sell to you personally..this might be the problem on there end.

Yes they do, and it's the same ring as a hell fire, and they have numerous "trick of the week" nitrous stuff to play with too. They have evrything I've ever wanted, tool steel, stainless, gapless, dykes, barrels, iron, moly, and on and on. Plus when you have to go to a weird bore size they'll test different ring sizes to get you the best radial tension for your application. Speed pro makes a fantastic ring for sure, but tech isn't as readily available as A+C.

Rings can be a nightmare, last summer we freshened my 432 motor, it was amazing how many hoops I had to jump through for 6 weeks just to try and get my rings from Perfect Circle. It was very frustrating and wiped out part of my summer.
