I have read forums here about the WSS 70 Challenger and rumors of a 340 performance package one, any information would be appreciated

Mine started out as a 318. Here is a bump.

340 WSS Challengers seem to be scarce, but a handful are known so far.

A bit out of date now, but some info that I compiled a while back at WSS Challenger info as of last update

Thanks but could not open link. Have any been certified by Govier or Mark Worman from GYC?

Mark Worman doesn't certify anything. It's a TV show.

Galen does all Mopars. But what you have is a extremely specific option/model/year. When It comes to very specific nuances/oddities there are often a focused person or people that have more data and knowledge than Galen.

Now that's an authority.

Certified? What's to certify? Look at the VIN, tags & sheet.

There are between 7-9 (sorry I don't remember the exact number) WSS 340 Challengers that have been confirmed to have been produced by Barry Washington (Alaskan TA).

He's ten times the authority than the two clowns you mentioned and twice on Sunday.

I am no authority, but I do a lot of research.

The latest info on the currently known WSS Challengers is at https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbt...hallengers.html

I am sure more will surface as time goes on.

Stop being modest.

You know more about WWS's then those two do. Plus you've collected info on confirmed cars.

Now back to your Turkey Pengrims

Barry,

Purchased from Rick P (see above thread), I now own his WSS 340, 4 speed car with factory AC. Galen has just documented the car this last May (2017). According to Galen, only 37 cars were produced with a 340 and only 7 are known to exist today that he is aware of. Mine is the most highly optioned car with 2 fender tags....

Could you please help me understand what the difference is between the two different versions of the WSS decals are? There are two different styles of script for the word "Western" that were placed on the Dart and Challenger. I have one type, but haven't put it on the car yet because I am not sure it is the correct one.

Thanks for your help. - Cody

WSS Darts are '69s.

WSS Challengers are '70s.

Different models, different model years, different decals maybe?

I do not research '69 models at all.

The last "in the wild" WSS Challenger I saw personally was a red 383-4 bbl car at a wrecking yard in Duarte, CA. around 1990. Russ' VW parts. It was a complete, rust-free car. As I recall, it had a white painted roof & white interior - flat hood car. Woulda, coulda, shoulda..........

Interesting thread. Also saw a '69 Dart WSS (looked like a 318 car to me) driving one day in Phoenix back in the mid-80's. Not so spectacular, but they are scarce cars - all the WSS's.
