Trying to put my next 340 build on paper,and would like to know exactly how many grams are to be had (or lost) going aluminum. manley's lightest listed steel rod is 555g. Also, please specify if the rod your're refering to dimensions vary from stock. thanks

Depends on the rod.

My favorite rod was the Groden, but I don't think he's in business any more. You could rebuild his rods.

I had some BME rods years ago that were really light...I think they were under 400 grams....I think 386. Like 1400 gram bobweight.
