Picked up a 2016 sxt charger a couple of weeks ago.
Thank you to snyk-eyes formerly Sputnik aka Rich D for the FFP as combined with the 20% off I was able to pick it up for sticker less 25%.
Last week it was 38 degrees f at cold start up and whined like crazy when my wife remote started it. The oil fill is correct and there is no valves clatter.
Today it's 50 f and the same thing, cars has less than 600 miles on it. Though it was assembled in November of 2015 but only had 20 miles on it at delivery.
I actually think it may sound like the water pump or WP cavitation? As I noticed something similar at less than 0 degrees f with a 2014 5.7 at 28k just before the water pump let loose.
Any others owners or dealer techs experienced this? Perhaps it's normal but seems to be excessive.
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Red

3.6L of wine, must have a high tolerance.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

Does that have a power steering pump? They can whine like nothing else sometimes...
The other option is to take the belt(s) off and start it (don't run it for long). With no accessories spinning, does it still whine?
If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

I have a 2013 Challenger and the wife has a 2015 Jeep, both with the 3.6 and neither one of them has ever whined.

It appears to have the electro-hydraulic rack with the pump buried in the ps wheel well. I'll listen closely in the AM but it sounded more centrally located. Thanks for the help! Red
