I was wondering if anyone had a database of dealer codes? I recently purchased a 1968 Plymouth Satellite, and I am supposedly the second registered owner. I purchased it from someone who purchased it from the "original owner's" family. From what I was told, the car was sold new, and lived all of it's life in the Birmingham, AL area. Anyways... I found a "Warranty Validation" sticker in the door jamb and it has a Dealer Code No. as 62454. I just wondered if there was any way to look this up. Thanks!

Very interesting. Thank you Dan! You know, I kind of wondered if the car may have come from the South Bend area. Long story short, I know that the lady once lived there,,. and there was an oil change sticker with a South Bend address. Here is a picture of the sticker but the writing is very faint. Justin

Ahhh... well that makes sense too. I didn't think about that. I guess I was looking at the "Original Delivery Date" and thought it may have been from when the car was new. I had never seen one of these stickers before.

I know this is an older post, but the other recent post about the "Warranty Validation" sticker made me want to re-read this post. For some reason, it never dawned on me until this morning but... there is a "by Feeman Spicer" decal on the rear bumper of my car. So I would feel pretty confident is saying that the car was sold new there.
I guess I never gave the dealer decal much thought because 1. It doesn't look like your typical dealer decal, and 2. Right after I bought the car, someone told me that it was an older radio decal. Glad a didn't peel it off. Anyways, I did a little bit of digging and found this picture from 1984 just before they closed Freeman Spicer. Turns out, they sold Chrysler, Plymouth, Mercedes, and Peugeot... and Studebaker up til 1963.
Does anyone happen to have any other pictures of the place?

Thanks for getting the same angle from modern street view maps. It looks as though the dealership may have also owned the two corner lots for parking... if not the entire block.

Pretty cool stuff. I work in the same city that I discovered Mopars in, Bridgeport CT. I would visit Bridgeport Dodge and purchase new parts for my 70 Challenger back in 1979. I visited Bridgeport Chrysler Plymouth where my friend's 71 'Cuda convertible was sold new. Both places disappeared through the years and you would never guess they were there but I remember when I drive by the locations. A common tale I suppose. The passage of time....

Hi Dan, I have been wondering who might have info on the closed dealerships. I have tried finding info on one that was located in Spokane Washington. It has been closed for some time, and believe the name was like Downtown Dodge of something similar. Dishman Dodge, located outside of the city limits is still around and easy to find info on, but the one that was in downtown Spokane has been elusive. Any chance you have any archived info on them? thanks for checking when time permits. In 1973 my dad bought a new W100 Power Wagon from what I believe was Downtown Dodge in Spokane. The paperwork says the dealer code is 25034 and at that time the dealership was a part of Dishman Dodge. May have been separate before 1973? Not sure. The two addresses are listed for "Dishman Dodge, Inc." Downtown 1030 W. 3rd Ave. Spokane, WA 99204 Valley 7700 E. Sprague Ave Spokane, WA 99206 Also I poked around in the Google News Archives, in the Spokesman-Review paper and found this separate dealership. 4/2/1969 Dodge City, Inc. 1120 W. 3rd Ave. Spokane, WA (an earlier date on the paper had the other "920" address for Dodge City) Back to Downtown and Dishman Dodge, here's a snippet from the paper:

Interesting: as far as I know, Dishman was owned by the Waltermire family. They also owned a Honda/Acura (I think) dealership east of the 7700 address on Sprague. There was a divorce, and the wife got Dishman, the husband got the Honda/Acura or whatever. I've forgotten their first names, but the son, Mark, was Dishman's GM. I worked there 2005-2010. Not a pleasant experience, but that's another story... I think Downtown Dodge may have been a separate/unrelated dealership; there was also a Chrysler/Plymouth dealership a bit west of Dishman, but they closed years ago.

I was compiling the "list" into a searchable database - time consuming & little interest put it on the back burner - I work on it from time to time but hasn't been a priority If someone asks - I'll spend time looking up a dealer code or location My aunt bought my 69 Charger from Glen Dodge in Queens or Long Island NY, I have googled and used every other search engine to find an address or location and have no luck. do you have anything on that dealer? Thanks Duane
