Anyone do any testing with carb spacers 1" or 2". Wanted to know if it's worth trying down the track.

I've used both open and four hole spacers in both hieghts, try it up
let us know how much faster your car goes with each one scope

I've done it on the dyno, and on that particular engine various combinations make some (8-10HP/TQ) difference.
Tried 1" open, 1" 4-hole, 2" open, 2" 4-hole, swapping around between 1", 2", combining the two 1", etc on a 358" SB drag-race motor.

Almost all combinations will pick up at least a little bit of power with a merge type spacer. 1", 1.5 or 2" if you have the room. Wilson has the best selection and the lightest spacers but they are also very expensive.

both of my buddies picked up 15 hp on the dyno with those fancy 2" tapered spacers. One has the Wilson the other is HVH or something like that. One is BBM and one is SBC.

My 434 small block made 13 more hp with a 1" super sucker on the dyno.

I wonder how the Wilson merge spacer would help a 4150 throttle body with direct port fuel injection?

Would be interesting to try, but expensive if no returns...

Spacers are usually a benefit. When you have too much, all that happens is that nothing new is noticed. Open, four hole, 1 or 2 inch changes can usually be felt seat of the pants.

My 440 RB picked up .15 and 1.5mph going from a 1" 4 hole spacer to a 2" supersucker, runs were within an hour of each other.

Never tested with or without on the dyno but my results are opposite of what you would expect. With both a 1" open and then a 1" taper 4 hole I lost 2/10ths and 4 MPH. Now we have determined this is due to the lack of space between the carb and the hood of my car. I need to go up, but hood choices that are functional and look good for a 3rd Gen Charger are far and few between.

You already know the answer to this by it slowing down by adding plenum voluem, the carb. is to close to the hood shruggy Fix it and retests it and let us know your results then sawzall

I haven't tested different ones, but did go with a 1" tapered spacer from Canton. To make sure you get the most out of any one you try, you should experiment with jetting, squirter size and squirt duration. In theory, increasing plenum volume may require more.

When i first put the 1050 dominator on my car with a 2" adaptor it lost 5mph at the top end to my 950 hp, took the hood off and it ran a pb.

Spacers are so combo specific, you just need to try them and see. If you gave us a rundown of your combo, we may be able to tell what it would most likely improve with.

Save your money. Will likely make ZERO difference on a direct port car. Plenum spacers have to do with air speed and atomization on cars with carbs. You don't have that issue. Look at EFI cars of various configurations. Throttle body on top, front, rear, side, etc............It simply doesn't matter
