They call it a pre filter, but it's a screen and the canister unscrews for inspection. I have one on both pick up lines.
Jimi Vignogna instructed me to install a pair after a lifter failure and the entire oiling system got contaminated.

I put one of those filters on my motor after a disastrous encounter with a failed rocker needle bearing. I am concerned about a restriction on the intake side, but if it will hold good oil pressure before the oil is up to temp, it must not be causing any problems? I was surprised the filter only has a flat screen in it, when there is plenty of room for a cone style that could double the screen area.

Greg, that's why call it a pre filter.Screen is tight enough to keep the chunks out so the pump doesn't jam breaking the drive.

I looked at the other oil filter Jomar,,,,,,looks good, just doesn't say what the flow capacity is work

What about the the pump that Ray Barton uses??

HEMI-ITIS has no cure.

This is a dailey on one of my predator motors. Very similar to CW's in being spur, like a chevy, not chrysler gear rotor. He offers these in 3 different rotor lengths too.

Is this a dry sump pump?
Reason I'm asking is when I went on Bailey's website, I saw no oil pumps for wet sumps. Am I missing something here.
I like the look of this pump and want to remove my Milodon oil system for something new.

The pump would work in a wet application too (with external pickup). The scavenge is made part of the pan. So it is a dry sump, I'm just using the factory pump location, and drive method.

Does anyone have any pics of the internals of the Wescott pump?

He showed me one years ago at commerce. As I remember, it looked more like a chevy gear set up. Has been many years back, and my brain barley holds water anymore, so I may be mistaken. PM, or call and ask him. He's never once been anything more than helpful with me, and kind about talking to people with less knowledge (my case).

It's interesting, my understanding was the gerotor design was more efficient that the spur gear design.

The gear rotor moves a ton of oil, but froths it up more. Helical roots pumps are so far I think the best way to move oil without whipping it up. I'm sure there are some hydrodynamic guys here that know the skinny on it. I think some of it is in the way they deal with bypassed oil too.

I think it was mentioned that they were helical cut gears. Much more efficient if so. Sort of like the difference between a screw blower and a rotor blower.

I thought CWs pump was normal spurs, but I can't clearly remember unfortunately. I'll ask him tomorrow, and report back. I know a helical roots would be better than no angle in roots, but I can't imagine spur gears being more or less effective with an angle. they might be more quiet, but I just can't figure how they'd move more oil.

I got mine through an AH racer via a very well known engine shop that said they had "modified" it for a the customer. I do know they gears had a twist similar to the billet BBC pumps out there. Also it was much "smaller/thinner" than the KB pump it replaced. But those are fairly massive pumps. I had pics of it but cannot find them. Beginning to think they were on my phone that is gone.

The Gerotor design from what I was told, cavitates less than the gear type. But my memory isn't what it used to be.

The Westcott pump were a lot thinner than most available. But I would expect that from a Super Stock pump. The Barton pumps were too from memory.
It's something I have always wanted to do some testing with, but on a small block

Not sure their current status but I'm very happy with Titan. It can be set up for single or dual input and pressure can be adjusted externally.
