The car is going to need rear spring too so maybe you can help on the setup.

My vote for a bracket car would be to use at max a 318 t-bar.
Cal-tracs out back. I ran the XHD springs with mine, but the mono leaf is preferred.
The 509 cam can use way more than 3000 stall.
At that combo/weight, in a race car, I'd be looking at a 9.5 piece with around 4500 flash stall.

No, the .920 bars were like what came in a GTX.
I don't recall the diameter of the std v8 bar..... I think it was either .860 or .880.
I have a set somewhere I can measure.

I ran the .810 bars w/my small block but the BB didn't care for em so I scored some .830-.840 bars from a 340 car and still run em w/good results..........

I just checked to original bars out of my 383 68 Satellite...... They're .880.
I've had 6 cylinder bars in the car for about 30 years..... IIRC those are .840.

My whole problem is before I got the car someone put a bar off of a Newport on the driver side. It tries to go all over the place going down the track, it so hard the drive at the big end.

Std v8 .880 bars should be really easy to find since they came in most of the b bodies built.

[quote=Jeremiah]Can measure the difference in bar diameter from side to side. I have an old set of circle track bars that are 1.20 and 1.25 and I always wondered if you would notice the difference. [/quote I was there when it happened, we were getting some tranny work when he put it on the ground it broke. The man told my friend he had a 68' Newport in the back so he put it on.

Just measure the diameter of both sides then you'll know what you have.

I just measured mine in my big block Duster yesterday, they seem to measure about 8.70-8.80 using a cheap digital caliper. I measured them because I was wondering if I need something bigger or if mine are simply wore out. I had to really crank the adjuster bolts tight to get the ride height I needed and something in the front of my car is starting to creak and groan alot when turning or hitting bumps in the road, seems like it might be my torsion bars since everything else looks good and new up front.
