Well, I got the right lifters from Isky. They have two large feed holes. I have a .060 hole in each lifter bushing. The feed holes on the lifters are 90 degrees away from that hole, but oil flow to the pushrods is too much and oil pressure with hot oil is only max 50 psi at over 7,000 rpm at the stripe. So I need help figuring out how to restrict these lifters just enough to still feed the pushrods and keep the valve train alive, but not cause the loss of pressure. Can I block one of the two feed holes in the lifters? There is zero oil going through the spraybars now, I blocked them in an attempt to stop the pressure loss. That didn't do enough to help bring back the oil pressure.

Roll pins in the pushrods. I've tried 3 different methods. Epoxy in the lifter holes came loose. Brass tubing locktited in the pushrods came loose. This method is working perfect. They stay tight. I got this tip from a guy who said he's done it for years with no issue. Mine has 60psi@1500, 80 @2500. Ive already cut the relief valve spring in the pump to lower the pressure.

You can get pushrods with internal restrictors

I'd love to see what the oil feed hole situation looks like in the new lifters.

Roll pins are a hell of a lot cheaper

Dwayne, they look to be bigger than the ones in my Comp Cams lifters, plus there are two!

Doug, were you able to get roll pins the exact size of the pushrod holes? These are Manton pushrods. What size hole did it end up with?

Call manton, send and have them replace the rocker tip of the pushrod to a "restrictor tip" I always have a .030" tip installed on every engine I put together... You only need enough oil up top to keep everything happy, to much oil will fill your vacuum tank and steal oil where its needed....

Greg, I understand what you're saying, but if/when you pull them out, I'd love a visual so I can see what combination isnt working. A pic of the feed hole in the bushing would be great too.

My push rods were roughly .100". I used 3/32×1/4" long(aprox .058 restriction). They pressed nice and solid. They're in the bottom of the push rod. My therory was if they started move I'd catch it. When it was apart for inspection none had moved.

I had the same issues with ISKY lifters. Easy fix drill and tap for a small brass plug. I experimented and found I only needed a .015 hole...the other side I pulled solid. Engine has been together for 8 years or so with a lot of 7800 rpm passes. I got the drills and brass from McMaster Carr.

Dwayne, will do if I pull them. It may be a. long time if the restrictors solve my problem. I plan on putting in roll pins like DVW suggested first. If that isn't enough then out they come.
Thanks for the idea HVYweight. Will keep that in mind.

Mine measure .087 in the 1/2 inch exhaust pushrods. I had to go to 7/16 on the intakes, I hope they are the same. Haven't checked on them yet.
