It was actually ran today, so we know what it made, but will give you a chance to guess anyway.

This motor is going in my wife's 64 fury vert (if the body shop ever gets done with it). Will have a 727 and 8 3/4 with 3.23's behind it. Meant to be a nice cruiser.

413 block bored to 4.25", 3.75 stroke, 426 ci.
440 source heads worked over a bit by Brian (OU812/IMM).
Flow numbers
Lift Int Exh
.200 150 113
.300 220 145
.400 270 174
.500 292 195
Indy SR 1.5 rockers
Comp XE275HL Cam, .525/.525 lift, 231/237 @ .050, 110 ls, installed 4 degrees advanced
Ross flat tops, zero deck, 9.6:1 cr
Performer RPM manifold.

First, guess what it made with a holley 770 street avenger, vacuum secondaries

Then, what did a holley 950hp do for it?

So what do you think it made for hp and tq?

Rob, you don't get to play.

BTW, Mrs. G-bob's already asking if she can run the car down the strip.

Pure guess work...

480 with the small carb
492 with the 950 carb if you leaned it out (bet it was rich for that combo)

Well, here it is....

With the 770 carb, it made a best hp 459 at 5500 rpm and 485 tq at 4500 rpm.

With the 950hp, it made 470 hp at 5500 and 505 tq at 4200 rpm.

Here is a video of the last dyno pull.

426 dyno video

Thanks Brian, Mrs G-bob loves it.

Good to hear Glenn! Thank you!!
I will say that the 950 was actually jetted perfect for this engine, we had average 12.75:1 and it was in the low 13's at top end of the pull.

The 950HP carb was worth 20ft.lbs. of TQ!! Average HP gain with that carb was 15HP from 3000-5700rpm.
Average TQ gain was 20ft.lbs. from 3000-5700 rpm.
It idled down nice at 850rpm, nice chop to the idle and was clean and crisp even with the 770 Avenger carb.
Now it's time to move on to the other project....

Hey I see I was the one that was really close with my 465 HP and 485# ft.torque.

I am surprised that the 950 HP carb upped the torgue to 505# at a lessor 4200 RPM. Thats good news for that carb. what are your thoughts on that Brian. mike

Which spring was in the secondarys of the 770? What was the A/F like?

Thanks!
Dave

I believe the lightest spring was in that avenger carb. A/F averaged 12.25 with the avenger once the secondaries opened. It carried 1.7" of vacume before they opened!!
I think the vacume secondaries were coming in so late that changed peak TQ, cause there really is no other explanation that I can see for that happening.
It sounded much better with the 950 that's for sure!!!!

Good work Brian, really nice numbers for a big street car. Love to see the ricer that tries to run Mrs. G-bob from the greenlight.
