I found out why my cars steering felt sloppy. The Bushing or bearing on the passenger-side has disintegrated. The pieces in the boot felt like hard rubber or plastic. Anyone know where to get a replacement part? Or what was on that end of the gear? It looks to be an early Pinto type gear.

I don't think that is a serviceable part. Might have to check the manufacturer, or fabricate your own. Those clamp marks look to be right in front of the bushing. Maybe it forced it out or damaged it?
