Leave the tabs on and use springs to hold the collectors on.That's what the Pro Stock cars do.

the best is to support the moter up with a floorjack
mount the headers and if you cant use the mounts use a moter plate and take it from there
my 440 with 906 ,stage 3 max wegde heads and stage 6 heads where no problem
when I went to indy sr,s all I did was lowwer the moter down 3/8 and they fit great
1.39 9.85 - 137 mph

Keep in mind that these headers were designed around the DC/MP BB Abody K member. As already said, a motor plate will help move the mill around to best fit the headers also. By using either method, I have installed a few pair with minimal issues... But sounds like you're on the right track to making them work...GOOD LUCK!

Don, which side of the collector are the tabs on your passenger (Sharon's) side?
Tabs are toward the transmission on the passenger side.

Just put my old Pro Parts on 499 this summer other than tabs on Pass. side no problems after I cut header flanges put on turnouts, redid tabs on passenger side.(went to outside) have one problem #1 tube wont go straight in collector. Looks like it will have to be cut and fit right or I will just put collector on as far as it will go. What are some of your suggestions???????

Just put on a set of the Mazzolini/ TTI Proparts 2 1/8 step headers, they are a pain and I don't have inner fenders.they touch the starter, oil pan, shock towers, transmission. They did however help my power. Mine is a low deck bb with Indy heads and Andy's plate. Only put them on to run last weekend, going to have some headers custom made, also gave me more tire clearance for 27" front.

Also how much do they go for I bought them direct from Bob Mazzolini cash no tax was $980, I had my hooker 1 7/8 and went a best of 9.89 1.38 60. 135 mph To these headers and the car went 9.64 @ 139 and a best of 1.35 60. I'm going to sell these and have some custom made.

I used them on both 383 and 440.. had to massage them for the 383.

I had the old pro-parts ones on my car for the original build and 1 season....
My engine is set back a little bit, and it is a low deck stroker with 441-1 heads and a 4 speed. Lots of thing working against me using a factory set of headers. We made them work for a while but they were hurting my power some, but still worked for what I needed.
They started to rust out just below the master cylinder so I pulled them and ended up building my own. Damon Kuhn basically designed, and tacked them together using a headman hustler weld up kit, with some extra U and J bends. Once they were tacked up I took them home and I spent about 15 hours tigging them up..... Best think I could have possibly done. I couldn't be happier with them. Just barely have to jack up the car and turn the wheels and I can pull them out in sections.. Easier plug access, but I have to use angled boots now.
My old ones pro-parts originals were a PIA. Had to cut one tube to get them out, then I piled the whole mess in a trash can in the back of the shop...Been meaning to throw them out! I suppose they would have worked well on a tall deck stock location engine, but they were ill fitting for my application...
