Looking at buying this car, but it didn't have the rear torque boxes and it had a 22 inch radiator. Is this fender tag legit?

Also, non matching engine and trans but the car is clean and very reasonable.

Also, where is the cowl vin number stamping on a Canadian car built in August? Is it under the weather stripping?

I think for 71, VINs are stamped on core support and cowl. Not trunk lip.

I recall reading that there are some combinations of 440s that could have the 22" radiator. I believe it was base 440 (4bbl or 6bbl) with auto, base rear end. I think once you added any performance option (an A32 package for example), you jumped to the wider radiator. The narrow radiators isn't unheard of but not super common with the 440s IIRC.

Odd that someone would have added the half vinyl top to an original non vinyl car.

Another reason for concern. But I found the VIN on the cowl so I'm preety confident that it is the real deal. Car is not coded for air grabber either so it was also added along with spoilers. Beggars can't be choosers. .
