I am installing my comp engineering coil over shock kit and the instructions have no mention of what the eye to eye length should be when installed. Called Moroso and they said probably somewhere around 13" or 14". What kind of answer is that? Do even want to get into what the tech guy from summmit said. Should the shock be setup to where it will travel equal distances up and down? This is the shock. Competition Engineering 2051

Did that. They are the ones that gave me the 13" or 14" guess.

Rule of thumb is shock should be setup where the shock has 60% of its stroke for extension and 40% for compression.....so, in your shocks it would be this:

16.4-10.4 = 6" of stroke

60% of 6" is 3.6" - approx extension

So, at ride height, your shock eyelets should be a little less than 13"

In that case I would set it at mid stroke(13.4"), you can
adjust it either direction if needed

I think i purchased the same kit. My problem was that it used 12" springs and the shocks extended to 14". Every time the car was jacked up i had to hand fit the spring back into the spring seats. Comp.eng. was no help. I bought 14" springs to solve that problem .Spring rating will set your shock ride height. Best way to find that out is weight the back of your car before ordering your springs.I think summit has a chart for ordering.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead
