that's a popular oil for T/A. i still prefer the Brad Penn Nitro 70 for that type of motor.

i didn't see any mention of what the combo was. it's tough to make a recommendation when there's no info.

I run Castrol full synthetic 5 w 50. We tore the motor down last year and the bearings all looked like they just came out of the box.

I believe any brand name full syn oil will work just fine for you.

I forgot about your other question. I always break a fresh motor in with non synthetic oil. I've seen oil pressure problems when running a new motor on full syn.

Others may not agree, it's just what I do.

I've run VR1 20w50 for the last 3 years and it works awesome and at half the cost of full synthetic.

That said, I would not hesitate to go back to RotellaT 15w40 I ran that for years when I was injected.

The Brad Penn 50 would be best for you. I have it in funny cars, pro mods, t/s, etc. Great stuff and it holds up really well to alcohol. The Nitro 70 is obviously the highest end you could go n the BP line, but I think it would be too thick for your power level.

Not for break-in, but this is what my friends use in Alky motors.

ICH said to run 20/50W in my engine.
So would a straight weight oil work as well are better?
I have been raceing Mopars since 1977 all big blocks.I have always used straight 30W oil in all of them.

VR1 is Valvoline Race Oil.

I run VR1 or PennZoil GT Race if using a thick non synthetic, Joe Gibbs when I run synthetic.

Been running synthetic oil for years with Alky. I showed a post awhile back of my bearings after 300 passes. I think I will continue using it
