VCODE- I love your sig! And kudos on the car. It would be good to see some before pics...though some of the replies already have caused a picture to start forming in my mind! Ken- Nice work. It's nice to see a shop that really takes pride in what they do, especially when you see more negative feedback towards bodyshops than probably any other automotive field!

He's no different than all the other body shop hacks that give customers huge drama. The difference is his wife, she will bust is a$$ if it ever came to that. Ken is nobody, it's mama that makes things happen.
Seriously, Mr. Mosier is one of the good guys in the hobby that does take great pride in what he does and he's good at it. It's a pleasure doing buiness with the Finer Details.

When Ken first showed me the before pics, I thought you were nuts. But,,,, I told you it was in good hands ir-regardless of condition. I'll be looking forward to it's premier this spring
Bill, Most thought I was nuts, but why not restore a Very Rare Shaker Car. I was begining to think I was nuts also, but when Ken started sending me the pictures of the Restoration I knew the right decision was made sending the cuda to him and saving this special Mopar.
Hey where are those heater hoses

I noticed the driver's side exhaust bracket was painted with the car. Does anybody have clear before shots proving this? I was under the impression they were added after paint (the external side piece)

They where on when I got it.When I looked it seems that someone added them on.
Bob
So those NEVER came on any flavor of 1970 Barracuda/Cuda? Just curious.

Hey everyone Sorry for chiming in late. I did not know about this post until Bob recently pm'd me. Scott, the car John @ US Car Tool was working on was my 1970 Barracuda 383-4v convertible which I sold and he still working on. Bob's Cuda pictured here was my baby quite a few years back. I'll give a quick recap of how I came across this car as well as it's rare twin brother. About 7 years ago, I moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. At my new job I made some friends who learned of my passion for Mopars. One of my friends told me about a automotive instructor who had a "lime green Cuda with a 4 spd and shaker hood". Of course we have all heard that before only to find some Camaro with a fiberglass hood scoop Long story short, it turned out be the lime green Cuda you used on your prior ads as well as Keisler's ads. Fast forward about a year or so. I come across a person who tells me of "another shaker Cuda on the west side of the island". Where that Cuda was known on the island as "Mopar street" cause the owner there had like 8 or so Mopars parked on the street, mostly B-bodies. One day I decided to "de-myth" the shaker cuda rumour. I get there, meet the owner and he lets me look the car over. Sure enough, a shaker car. Open the hood and looking at the fender tag I was blown away by what I was looking at. The fender tag was IDENTICAL to my lime green Cuda except for the color and vinyl top Even the VIN was identical except it was one digit higher than my Cuda Needless to say, I made a very generous offer for the car and he immediately declined. I went home that day real sad and wondering how I could reunite both cars. fast forward some months, I hear about and purchased a nice driver condition number's matching '70 Charger R/T from a neighbor island. I originally purchased it for my dad (who's in NY) but he had later decided to pass on the car. I was going to sell the Charger until a bulb lit in my head I remembered the owner of the purple Cuda was really a B-body guy. So I decided to offer him a straight-up trade for the Cuda and another '72 Cuda shell he had. The Cuda was finally mine. OK, now I had the car but I was quickly learning the harsh reality of attempting a restoration of this magnitude in Hawaii. Shipping charges are phenomenal Lack of a body shop able to take on this task was another dilemma. So I sold the car to a gentleman in Connecticut whom later sold it to Bob and passed my info along to Bob as well. Bob and I have been in contact over the years and I was extremely happy it went to a good home. Now Bob has my lime green Cuda as well and is the new care taker of the twins. Sorry for the long story, it is about as short as I can tell it Ken, I look forward to meeting you at Carlisle this year, as well as Bob since we have yet to meet as well. I take it the Cuda is going to make it since I can see you are making some great progress! Scott, look forward to meeting you as well especially if you are going to be judging. I have to see this car. It will be like reuniting with a long lost child. Alan, I believe the bracket you are asking about is the bracket installed on the left side for the muffler hanger, correct? I would not know the exact proper finish on that Well since everyone is asking for some before shots, I'll post some re-united twin pics Gil

And Bob, I know these next set of pics are going to make your day These pics I developed from a set of neagtives I found in the glovebox of the purple Cuda. The negatives were those real thin and narrow type. You can clearly see the Cuda had it's original front bumper and road lamps unlike what it had when I got it with the bumperettes. It also had road wheels which we are still uncertain of. From my (and some local friends) best guess, these pics were take around 1987 when the car was last on the road. These pics were taken in a Military Hobby Shop where military folks work on their cars. What I love about these pictures is you can see how the car was, all original with it's shaker and black interior. Enjoy the pics Bob

It's not hard to find a restoration shop that can do nice body work and paint. It's another thing to find a restoration shop that KNOWS Mopars and has a desire to restore the cars to the way they were put together on the assembly line. It's evident in your work the hours of research and attention to detail you and your shop takes to turn out a top notch product! It's easy to see why your shop is one of the elite restoration shops out there. Keep up the excellence!! But Ken...the hat???????????

Bob, I was at Ken's when he rolled the Cuda out the door on Thursday for a few photos. I had my camera in hand as well to snap a few shots. No don't ask for my photo's, Ken was taking some to send to you, that's part of his job to the owner of the car. If I were you I would be sleeping very well at night knowing Ken has your car. They have done an exceptional job. I would be very proud to own this cuda. Ok that's enough I can see you smiling from here. logan426

Update this B body guy.. I see alot of "V" code comments on here.. What exactly makes these valuable and what did the "V" code designate. Just curious.. thanks
V code refers to the letter V being in the original VIN number of the car, which indicates it's a factory 440 6 Pak car. A challenger R/T with a 440 Six Pak would have a VIN of JS23VOB123456, a Superbird would be RM23VOA123456, etc. This was on cars from 70-72 that came with Six Paks, and will be the 5th character in the VIN #. Different engines had their own designation.H=340, N=383 ,U=440 4 bbl, V=440 six pak, R=Hemi. Hope that helps some
