Is anyone still making a Fiberglass shaker hood for a 70-74 Challenger? Google brings up the usually steel hoods but I am looking for a Fiberglass since I may need to cut it up some.

Your looking for a unicorn you know that, right?...the only company that made a Challenger Shaker hood was Fiberglass Trends, they've been gone for decades...Cuda fiberglass Shaker hoods are dime a dozen among the glass hood makers...

your current choices are very few:

ShowCars Fiberglass in Canada makes a Challenger Shaker hood,...but their products quality sucks big time, TOTAL junk, that's if you don't get ripped off cash wise, and receive nothing, so you get screwed either way

There's an independent, Dan Hegybely that made Cuda/Challenger Shaker hoods quite a few years ago, nice pcs, nice detail top and botton, the hoods cost about $800-$900( for that price you can buy an AMD steel repro?) you can try reaching him at andreadan@comcast.net

Too bad you weren't doing a Cuda, I have 2 mint bolt on fiberglass Shaker hoods (fiberglass trends and USbodysource) that need a home

Mike

Thanks Dayclona. I may have to consider a steel hood. I may have to widen & lengthen the opening anyway. I am running a Indy tunnel ram with two Dominators on my Hemi & was wanting them to poke thru the shaker hood & figure out what to do for a scoop. May make an over size shaker bubble to cover both Dominators too.

I'd call Glasstek...they may not have one, but I bet they could work something up for you.

Thought of trying someone like them. Now who has a factory steel hood that has the correct opening dimensions to get me started if I am to have one made?

Why not just get a flat steel hood and make your own opening and bracing?

I was hoping for fiberglass to start with by getting some of the weight off of this tank. And of course the steel AMD hoods are on back order until Nov.
