What is the best way to plug the oil dip stick hole on a 440 block. Putting a deep pan on a truck and can not use the one on the block. Motor is in the truck.

Pull the dipstick housing out of the block, cut it off 1/4" above the block, weld it closed, re-install the "stub" back into the hole with sealer. gene

Does the truck have the truck oil pan and dipstick now? If so the dipstick doesn't go into the block, it goes into a fitting on the pan. If this is the case, then the hole in the block is already plugged.
