Would a 1.6 ratio be worth any thing over a 1.5 on a big block Victor head? These are going a on a 11.5:1 511 street/strip deal. These are max wedge

Is the cam a single pattern cam with the same lift and duration on both lobes? If so the 1.6 ratio onthe exhaust will probally help some shruggy If not, depending on the differences in flow on the exhaust side it may not help confused I use 1.6 ratio on a lot of my motors now on both sides, more lift and duration thumbs

How close are you to getting ready to fire your motor up my cam is similar to yours and would like to know the results

71 demon stock stroke 440/indy ez-1 running 10.10 @ 132.14 mph in the 1/4 and 6.36 @ 107.46 mph in the 1/8 not in the same weekend but It did it then I sold it.

I have never seen a increase in power when switching
to a 1.6 over a 1.5 unless the cam was all wrong...
you have a increase in duration(time) that the piston
is pushing out the air... big on the intake works due
to atmospheric pressure is doing the work... this was
on the dyno and the track

It's gonna be awhile. Next year sometime. Block is still at the shop and I need a trans since my small block trans won't fit. Think I'll sell the sb 727 and get a new 727 from John cope.

Mine is 270/274 @ .050 with 693 lift but I'm only a 452 CI motor about the same compression though

Was it speced with 1.6 exhaust... or just the
intake.. one of the cams I just bought was speced with 1.6
or 1.7 on the intake but still 1.5 on the exhaust.. but the
one I'm putting in is speced at 1.5 for both.... if yours was
speced at 1.6 on both.. why ask the question

Yes 1.6. wasn't thinking about that at the time. This project is going so slow I forget what i have. Why are shops so slow? They have had my block since April. Is this the new norm?

I am very lucky with the machine shop I deal with. They have a retired guy that comes in usually 2 days a week to do cranks and I've never waited over 2-3 weeks max to have a block done.

1970 Duster
Edelbrock headed 408
5.984@112.52
422 Indy headed small block
5.982@112.56 mph
9.38@138.67

Livin and lovin life one day at a time

I have never had to wait so long for machine work. Last year I waited 3 months for my 360 block to get finished. Next time I will go to a Mopar shop for machine work. Best Machine comes to mind.
