I am going to run some MT 29.5/10.5-15W slicks soon. I have about 5/8" clearance from tire to frame rail (Springs moved inside frame) Is that enough?

Thats on the minimum side but should clear..
but since its on the frame side you shouldnt
have any sharp edges like out on the fender
side.. might rub on quicker cornering

I run 1/2" for 3 years, no issue.

Another factor you have to deal with is the
tire size to the rim size and the pressure..
but from what the others are saying it wont
rub on cornering
EDIT
also another factor... bias ply or radials..
a radial will have less movement due to higher
pressures over the bias ply

Just thinking out loud... Would a 1/4" spacer be ok, drag racing?

I've never had an issue with Spacers. My 11.0 street car has 1/4". My 9.0 drag car has 1/8". The trick is to make sure the wheel lugs are properly torqued. I use 100 lb/ft on 1/2" studs.

Spacer is not an issue. We have cars that run NA 10.5 that have 3-4" spacers. Those guys normally run Comp with more tire. Funny thing is they are faster NA 10.5 racing...Yet still put the big ones back on...

Slow the car way down before doing the turns on and off the track thumbsI've had more than one car with 1/2 inch on bias tires, go slow when in doubt on the turns up

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
