Thought I'd share my currant frustration.Double beadlock rims will NOT fit over a finned dana 60 drum mad
There is a smoothie non finned drum but they want prices that are double on flea-bay.Will try to machine the drums down and make it work or I have to install discos sooner than planned frown
If someone has a set lemmie know smoke

you'll be lighter with Wilwoods.

two suggestions for Wilwoods, yet when you ask a brake question most say "pass". Just an observation. I have wilwoods on the front and DO need better in the rear than the drums.

How about switching to the 10.5x2.5 inch drums and backing plates, maybe with forklift linings devil The stockers use to use the really soft forklift linings with 9x3 inch brakes on the rears foot braking work up

In order to match my rear rims I had to get a Bead Lock rim with the option of a DBL,so I bought the DBL.I am not fast enough to NEED them.

Champion said my rear rims were "collector items"

cab, tell us more about those forklift linings. do they come in just the lining you can rivet on your shoes, or is there a possible shoe set for the 10" brakes ? what are they made of ? are the linings thicker than the stock material ? and lastly, what size and approximately what year range of fork lift should a guy be looking at for this material ?

Some of the wilwood brakes wont fit a 15 beadlocker either. Strange brakes are lighter, smaller, and won't get sticky like the wilwoods. athat is of course if you go aftermarket.

I have installed more sets of Wilwood brakes than I can count and never had an issue with a single set. Have also used Strange, Mark Williams and Lambs with no problems. Aero-Space on the other hand.........well lets just say I wouldn't buy anything they make.

As far as clearing beadlocks. Some wheels clear, some don't, but it's not the caliper, it's the beadlock ring. I have never had a set of Champions, that would NOT clear the Wilwood 4 piston calipers. Close yes.......hit no

This day and time, no way anything resembling fast, should have drums on the rear. With the steady pressure brakes require to stop a race car in the shutdown from any decent speed, the drums fade QUICK. That means you are doing all your stopping on the front brakes, that has the tiny tire. Bad plan.

Doesn't really matter what guys USED to do and it worked OK. Fact is, it really did NOT work well back then and still won't. They just managed to get by and not crash or run off a track

You will need to take a set of good shoes, no metal to metal contact on them tsk to a comercial brake relining company, not a parts store, and have them use thier softest lining thumbs scope Make sure and tell them this is for a non street car also, maybe a show car whistling

The strange brakes give you the most clearance. They're light and they don't corrode in the piston seal area like the wil's. Strange has a complete kit that's less cost than the wil's too.
