jus got my 69 road runner back together from paint and rebuild.I have no spark in the sparkplug wires.I do have power in the points. I also have power in positve side of coil. i have power in the negative side of the the coil (not sure if thats normalL) i also have power in the single wire side of the ballast resistor. this is all when the key is turned on . Could it be a ground problem (new paint ) any help appreciated

Put a testlight on the lowside of the coil. Crank engine. If it flashes, the points are working. Try a different coil.

you have fire to the coil in "run". As you know you also need fire in "crank". pull the yellow wire off of the starter relay to disable the starter (you know it cranks & no need to run down the battery). Then have a helper hold the key to "start" & see if the coil primary positive terminal is hot. holler back

double check your ground wire from distributor to coil.

Dizzy rotor, cap and coil wire all ok? Had distributor been removed,,,,however even if improperly re-installed you would still have spark at wires when cranking, just not at correct time of course. If all ok, see Robert above,,,then likely connector at ignition switch or bulkhead or wiring to starter relay.

Check cap ,rotor and make sure dist is turning. As said test light to coil on dist side cranking should flash.Since you have power to pos side that says everything from there back is good.Ive also seen points not set correct and condensors and coil leads bad.Rocky

I had the same problem with my Charger before I did the Pertronix. Ended up being a bad condenser

if it would not start when cranking (ballast bypassed) then it'd be the condensor (kinda rare but does happen). Glad you got it taken care of

Had a VW at work that had a bad condensor.Guy that supposedly was a VW expert took 1/2 the car apart trying to fix it.We told him like 5 times to change point and condensor as we had them in stock.Couldt be because they looked new. After about 30 hours they got changed. Was a miracle it started and ran great.Lots of times KISS works.Rocky

Agreed, once in a tune up shop we worked on a vehicle that had been kicked out of three dealer shops & they couldn't get it & pretty much right away we saw that the dual point gap was way off, a call to the old Raceland speed shop to get the spec & easy fix.
