A friend of mine is looking for the parts noted in the attached photo. We are wondering what these parts are called and what they are used for. I believe they were used on a '72 and up B-body car. Please let me know what these parts are called, what they are used for and where I might find replacements.

IIRC those are 73 and up rear spring isolation cushions/brackets with sway bar provisions

That's what I was thinking they might be. I'd love to find a photo from a service manual that shows them and possible part numbers.

My brothers 74 RR has those for sway bar and the left one is cracked just like that. Now I know it wasn't a random occurrence. Havent replaced it yet. It was making noiseso I just unhooked that side of sway bar link and you can't really tell a difference.

The shock plates are unique to them also.

At one point someone was making a poly replacement for the rubber insert. The metal parts are strictly junkyard/swap meet sourced.

Unless its a restoration, I'd do away with them.

Thanks for the info on these parts. Any thoughts on how I can find these and what vehicles did they come on? Was it just 73 and up B-body cars? Guy is doing a resto and wanted to replace them.

Why not just weld it back together and clean them up?

if those are just cracked and not rusted through, drill about a 3/16-1/4" hole at the end of the cracks. this is a must, as this stops the cracks from starting again. then v-groove the crack length on both sides with a 3" cutoff wheel. weld up the cracks, then dress down to flat. good as new now ! remember to clean thoroughly before welding, but DO NOT USE BRAKE KLEEN TO DO THIS ! when welding, brake kleen turns into phosgene gas, which is essentially "mustard gas", and that will cause severe respiratory problems if it does not out right kill ya ! this warning can not be repeated enough ! this is not meant to scare anyone, but to inform those that don't know what can happen.

3722944 and 3722945 are the part numbers for the cracked brackets shown. None shown available on partsvoice.com so weld them or find good used.

Mopars4ever, thanks a lot for the detailed info. Really appreciate it. I'll pass it on to the guy doing the resto.
