Thanks to John at CRT and others on this forum, I was able to build a 904 to replace the 727 in my Duster in hopes of picking up some ET. Today I was finally able to make some passes at the local 1/8 mile track. I admit the conditions for this region were unusually ripe for making horsepower (the high was 51 degrees and the corrected altitude was 300 ft above sea level). I struggled with traction all day, but the one pass I didn't blow the tires off resulted in bettering my previous best pass by 1.8 tenths and 4 miles per hour! 6.70 @ 105, and that was with a 1.48 60 foot - the tires unloaded briefly just before the 60 foot mark so I know it has a lot more in it. The car is definitely a different animal with the low gear 904 and 5500 stall!

I read this forum almost daily and have learned a ton from you guys - thanks for sharing your wisdom!

Thanks J_BODY! I was kind of bummed I wasn't able to but the boots to it and represent in full form today but we'll get it dialed in. Man - I'm loving life with a small block!

Caltrac split monos leafs and bars, Afco double adjustables. I was all over the place with the shock settings, air pressure, and launch RPM to no avail. I'm convinced the Mickey Thompson ET Street SS's are junk. And they're brand new!

Did you do a strong burnout on the first shot...from

I'm generally not one to stay long in the burnout box - 3 seconds is about the max. Clean 'em up and get the heck out. Squeaky clean we say. Since today was the first day on them I went a little long on the first couple passes. What do you define as a light burnout?

Last year I ran the discontinued MT ET Street Drag Radials and had zero traction issues. Of course this year I have a brake and much more torque multiplication so it's not apples to apples.

About 5" travel on the front. Single adjustable QA1's with R valving.

A 2 count when in high gear then roll out... you might
not have the bars set up for your new torque factor...
I can say on my car I couldnt hook at all with a low rpm
launch.. I was gonna try to get out to the track today
for the first time on my new car but got rained out..
also when you are trying to find out issues... video every
run and play it back in slow-mo... video it from a quartering
rear so you can see both the rear and the front

Good points. The bars are in the bottom hole. I was considering moving to the top hole which I understand hits the tires harder but I ran out of time. I still don't like then tread pattern on the SS's. The rain grooves are huge!
