What is the correct size rim and spare tire for an A body Barracuda? Need to get the right size for mine.

Thanks!

for 1968 it would be the same that's on the car.
the largest combination for 340-383-A/C-some others had 14x5.5" wheels & E70-14 tires.

Thanks. When in the spare well, should the top of the tire be flush with the trunk floor or does it rise above the trunk floor? The spare I have now rises above the trunk floor so the board is above the rest of the floor. Is that correct?

I think all of the 14x5.5" wheel/tire spares are above the trunk floor.
the 13" & 14x4.5" available combos sit "more flush".

Yes and it's ugly that way. If you want a clean look, use the narrower wheel.

If the factory provided fiberboard spare hold-down cover is used, it will eventually crown or droop over the edges of the 5.5" wheel/tire. Personally I won't say this is ugly, but in time the fiberboard won't be flat anymore.

Photo shows a flat fiberboard cover under the mat on a 5.5" wheel that is higher elevation than the rest of the trunk.

I want to say my 69 barracuda spare tire was a C 78-14 on a 4.5 inch rim. It sat flush.

The original trunk mat had a mat of 1" or so of a horsehair type of padding glued to the underside of the trunk mat on either side of the spare tire cover to raise the mat so that it was pretty flat

Interesting. My car with 5.5" wheels was not delivered with that padding.
