I'm painting my fiberglass hood on my Challenger and am looking for a good alternative to organasol. I like the lightly textured look of it, but it is just too expensive! Hopefully someone can help me out.

Rustoleum textured black. Heard somewhere Frank B. Repackages and sells as organasol.

Can you get PPG DCC1935 in a pint? Seems like that would be enough to do a hood once the reducer and hardner were mixed in.

Planet Color has a textured black in their rugged tones line that looks good. I have no idea what is costs....

Maybe find another local Mopar guy and go in 50/50 on a quart?

iagree We use Mar-Hyde, too. It has texture, but doesn't grab wax and polish like flatter finishes.

We usually put the last coat on rather wet and then while it is still wet, dust some late model Mopar Brilliant Black over it. That adds some multi colored metallics to it. You can add as much or as little metallic as you like.

It may not be strictly OE correct, but it looks great. the following shot does not do it justice;

well lost in life here is talking about something which he does not have a clue. Please tell me where "you heard" this and identify yourself with your real name. Our Organosol-----(which this is the correct spelling) is original PPG acrylic lacquer----sold in pints and quarts only. It is raw paint----you must supply proper reducers. I have no idea what rustoleum sells.....but highly doubt it is acrylic lacquer. Frank Badalson

I used SEM's Hot Rod Black for my V21. My friend used a "dry spray" method to get some texture. Very easy to care for as well
