Although I had a one piece front plate, I found that after awhile (months) gaskets could leak. Then I just used only RTV (no gaskets) and it never leaked again. Same here. We have actually replaced most every gasket on our engine with RTV.

Never had a leak (1 piece plate) when sealed with Hylomar. And there is no cure time. Is that like the stuff gm use's on the front diff case half and t case half ? There's is red though. No that is aenerobic sealer. Poor in shear, very brittle when it cures. Works great for a small gap surface. Doug

I had the two piece deal like you have. I just bought AndyF's single piece motor plate. It arrived yesterday. Man is it nice. Hughes engines had best price I found.

Years ago I ran the 2 piece ear mounts, flex would break the seal and it would start to leak. I welded a strap across the top of the ears and that stopped the flex and the leak problem. Now I have AndyF front motor mounts on 2 of my cars, I just use standard water pump gaskets and never have had a leak. I do put stress on them from torque to pounding the oil pan into the pavement.
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead
