A friend gave me a set of new NGK Plugs from his BMW that fit my small block 340, however I cannot find the heat range. Here are the specifics:

Written on the insulator is: BMW R5. Elsewhere on the plug is this: NGK BKR6EQUP.

Thanks in advance.Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

IIRC the 6 is the middle of the heat range, pretty much what people run. Also I think the NGK numbering system is reverse everyone else, in that a smaller number means hotter.

I think NGK makes a pretty fine plug.
