I just got a smokin deal on some Wilwood rear brakes but they have small bearing Ford brackets so I'm going to pick up some Mopar/Dana brackets. As far as I can tell they replace the flange on the "green" bearings an the instructions require you to remove the bearings then install the plates. I have Moser axles with snap ring type bearings that don't have an integral flange so I was wondering if the Wilwood brackets retain the axle bearing against the snap ring.It would be nice if I didn't have to remove the bearing and just drop the brackets over the axles then install the snap ring then slide the axle back in.
If anyone here has installed the drag type brakes please enlighten me.
Thanks up

Gus

They make 2 different brackets for Mopars. One is for the flange style bearing (which I have) and the other for the snap ring style you have.

Make sure you order the correct one.

Can't say anything about the install for yours but mine I was able to smack the flange off the bearing with a hammer and cut the flange off so I didn't have to press the bearings. After that the bracket then acts as the flange to hold the bearings in the axle.

Thanks Bill
I really don't want to replace good bearings if I don't have to to use these brakes. I have to make a few measurements to order the correct brackets then I will call Wilwood to make sure I get the correct brackets.

I machined my brackets for a snap ring. But beware there are different hat offsets. Mock everything up first and make the caliper will center over the rotor. You can shim it in one direction but not the other.

Thanks Doug

I looked at the Ford brackets and the ID and the bolt patterns are very close to the Mopar setup so I can modify them to at least mock it up to check the hat offset. I might even be able to use them if I open up the ID of the bearing hole and have it machined for the snap ring like you did.
