NEW doesn't mean perfect. I have resized many a NEW rod because it wasn't the right size or not round. Can't check one and call it good. Gotta check em all

Yeah I rolled the dice and got snake eyes. I was just verifying the clearances the shop gave me.

Someone asked what the oil temp was and I don't know at this point. I'll have to ask Dyno operator.

My machinist has a saying. "If it comes out of a box, it's FUBAR. If it wasn't I wouldn't need any of this expensive machinery"

That was me Dave. When I dynoed my 434 that was one of the things they checked during every pull.

I asked him at one point and he said it would record during the pull. I'll see if he has that. The more monitoring the better for me. You should see all the gauges inside my car.

You do get what you pay for.........I'd be looking CompStar at a minimum

I Agree !!!!!!!

Compstar Crank and Rods were used in my 565 SG Motor 900+HP 7400 at the stripe....this same motor was run in TS on NOS in a S10 Prostock truck running 4.70's....it is now in another SG car....was just freshened at approximately 300 passes and original builder said it could have gone many more.

Compstar...Great Product !!!!!!!!

That's a fact. Hard to get good machining from what I see.

yeah i know those are good quality rods. not sure what the cost is on those. i know the molnars are good as well and $571 shipped. i havent ruled out just buying two more eagle rods, depends on what it looks like in there when i get it apart. i would feel better with all new rods and bearings.

FWIW, I bought a couple of K-1 "ARP 2000 Material" (note the wording from website) replacement bolts for my K-1 H-beam rods from Summit. The little ziplock bag they came in was marked "Made in China" . down I wouldn't be surprised if more than one reseller of the chicom rods may be using other than genuine ARP bolts. Read their specs carefully.
