Just wondering if anyone is running this combination. Hoosier specs say that 12.5" wide tires should be on a minimum wheel width of 8.5". Mickey Thompsons say 8" minimum width. I have 8" wide wheels and just want to be sure there won't be a problem before I get the Hoosier tires. I have run 275-60 tires on 7" rims for years even though they recommend an 8" wide wheel minimum so I'm thinking the 29"x12.5" would be O.K. on an 8" width. Pics would be good if anyone is running this combo.

I used to run a M/T 13x31x15 Bias slick on my old racer on 10" wide Cragar Super Tricks. The new ride has these on 10x15 Centerline Warriors. If you run a wheel that is too narrow for a wide tire, you will need to lower the air pressure a lot to get the tire to make full contact at the line and then you won't have the stability you need at the top end

Ive been considering the same thing. What body style are you trying to fit this meat under? I wish someone made a 29" tall radial, on a 15" rim, that would fit our cars and still give us enough tread width to make it look good.
