They're not fast about a month or 6 weeks from my experience, but a nice product.

It took me about a month to get mine. Certainly worth the wait.

FWIW I bought both the teflon up scraper and the down scraper. I probably wouldn't bother with a non-teflon scraper. And one more thing. Grab a pad and pencil when you call Kevin. Learning from him is like drinking from a fire hose. I can't tell you how many times I have referred to my notes from our phone calls for information. And it's not just about crank scrapers. Very, very smart guy, Kevin is.

Had my first one in a week, but for wrong stroke. Second one, about 2-3 weeks. Was worth the wait. Didn't get the Teflon one.
Madscientist: what do you think of the fit on the Teflon one. Wasn't sure if it was worth the extra expense at the time. He sure does high quality work.

I put one in before last season, took about 2-3weeks to get but I told him I wasn't in a hurry,I got the teflon one. lots of work fitting it, but to work correctly that's what it takes. I'm not sorry I got it. very nice quality. Kevin is top notch like Madscientist said.

I like the fit on the teflon because it is essentially an interference fit. Way back when I was young and stupid (now it's old and stupid) I had a friend who was big on scrapers (this would have been 1985) and he made me one for my stuff. We fit on that thing for hours and hours. It was a royal PITA. The strange thing was I clearly remember my friend wanting to use something other than steel to make the scraper. Too bad he died in 1986. That guy was way ahead in what he thought. but the teflon is worth the little bit extra money IMO. It's a time saver and I think it is a bit more effective.

Ordered in Oct, but this is a one off I guess. 5 inch stroke, 4.84 bore center, Alloy rods etc won't make it easy. Teflon scraper, also getting a windage tray.

The one for my 408 took about 4 or 5 weeks to arrive also. I'm very happy with it. As a matter of fact I'm ordering one for my big block build in a week or so.

Is IJ doing the windage tray for you? I almost popped for IJ doing me a windage tray too but for a DD I figured I was pushing the wife a bit much.

Yep , they're doing the windage tray too. I have a pretty shallow custom sump and use a 3 qt accumulator. This worked fine with the 572 (4.5 x 4.5) motor with a modified stroker Milodon windage tray. The rod bolts hit the windage tray when we swapped it all over to the 655 so we ran all last season without one. We had oil pressure issues, dropping maybe 15 -20 psi to 30 psi when slowing down but the bearings seemed fine. I'd be happier running a windage tray and at the same time thought it would be a good idea to run a scraper on the 5 inch crank.

Are you willing to post some pics of the WT when you get it?? If not I understand. I'd like to see what he comes up with. Kevin is one of the smartest guys I have run into (not just about gearhead stuff either) so it's interesting to try and get my head around why he does what he does.

I won't have a problem if Kevin doesn't. He has posted pics of other trays and scrapers on his website, wouldn't think there will be any problem. Just need to get it here first grin

I ordered a teflon big block scraper on Dec 6th. Still waiting. Many calls to them and messages. No return call. Not sure how much longer I will wait to finish up the motor.

It took three months for mine.

Long wait, but it fit well.
