The Reid, BTE and ATI Powerglide bell housings, do they all have the same bolt pattern? I'm referring to the bolt pattern that mates the bell housing to the transmission case.

Cheers

They use the thru bolts for the front pump assembly on the glide to mate the bell to the trans. So i would say yes they do all have the same bolt pattern.
Im in the process of test fitting my valiant for a glide now, and I have to figure out what im going to do about the trans cross member.

Incorrect.........JW is the ONLY one that uses the front pump bell bolts. Reid and ATI both use a flange on the case that the bell bolts to and they are NOT the same pattern between the two

JW bell mounts with the pump bolts. Reid, BTE & ATI the bell mounts to the transmission case, I don't know if the bells from one company will bolt to the case of another.

Reid and BTE are the same. ATI is it's own and JW bolts to the pump.

Without Data, you’re just another guy with an opinion.

This is correct......but I think BTE likely buys their bells from Reid.

The JW would be my last choice for a Glide, if I was starting from scratch. Not a huge fan of the bell mounting to the pump bolts

Agreed. I've used the JW deal on a stock case. Have to pay attention to sealing the bolts to avoid leaks. Only reason/advantage to use JW's set up is the ability to use a stock case.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

BTE has their own Chevy bells. They sell Reid for others. ATI is its own pattern. ATI turbo 400 customers can request the register machined down as they include the Reid pattern.

Quicktime also offers a few steel bells that use Reid pattern that are a higher still cert.
