Who is the best restoration guy for a 3 speed wiper motor? It's for a 71 Charger Super Bee... In my opinion, the guy is actually a lady. http://www.passion4mopars.com/You can check her folder in the Hot Deals and New Products section here and she is a Moparts sponsor. She restored mine. Jim

Well Dwight, I guess we have to agree to disagree. The winding coils on the original motors extended out to the switch cap terminals and spliced connections with shrink wrap. These coil wires were covered with woven material for the insulation. That is how Kim does them for accuracy. What impressed me is the fact that this woven colored insulation material is hand made. Her "When you can't find it, you make it." approach is what sold me. The top motor is a late 70's build that is NOS, my motor restored by Kim and a good old core to show this method to be correct at the bottom. So what happens to the original coil length when all that is visible outside the motor is plastic coated new wiring? I really don't know what happens because I never opened one of these other restored motors to see, but I have a pretty good idea. Jim

One thing I like about Kim is she will do it to the way I want. Sometimes I want a barrel to be slightly brighter then stock for show and other times I want the barrel exactly like OEM. She is super talented and can go do all levels, even above OEM for show. I'm sure there's a few others doing nice work on 3 speed wiper. I had Jules do a few for me and he was great. Still have one of his in a box. After he passed I looked around at the top end wipers and I kept seeing that I preferred the work Kim was doing. Give her a call and talk to her. You'll be happy you did.

Jim I would prefer to discuss this with you via PM, but since you are not permitting that, you should PM me, or email me. There are very good reasons why I recommend BMcuda, etc. Thanks Jim.

Make sure to take several pictures of the part before you send it out to any of the parts restoration places. I am sure they all can handle any part that comes in for restoration. I sent out my 3 speed motor out to a well known shop several years ago and when i got it back the original zinc plated phillips screw that is visible on the barrel was replaced with a flathead screw. I had contacted the person on this and they explained in order to run an efficient business they had to have several finished cores sitting around so they could turn these around in a timely fashion. Most of the time the only original part you got back on your newly restored wiper motor was the gold zinc barrel because of the date code. I don't understand why the restorer would cheap out and put a flathead screw in that barrel vs the original unique phillips that originally came with it. Has anyone else noticed this? OTHER THAN THAT THE MOTOR LOOKS AND WORKS GREAT.
Please PM me if anyone has one of the phillips head screws that goes in that barrel. A replated one would be great.
